ABOUT
René Rodlauer is a 32-year-old self-taught filmmaker based in Vienna, Austria. He is fueled by a passion for storytelling and a keen eye for visual storytelling. His journey into filmmaking began with an early fascination for photography, which quickly evolved into hands-on experiences on commercial film sets. Alongside these productions, René honed his craft through personal projects, using each opportunity to refine his skills and artistic voice.
René has always found it fascinating to explore what brands and pop culture can do to people. This curiosity sparked his interest in understanding the emotional and psychological connections between brands and their audiences, inspiring him to create films that not only look visually striking but also resonate on a deeper level.
Inspired by the aesthetics of early 2000s films and music videos, René has crafted a style that merges the timeless principles of classic filmmaking with modern, very technical visual storytelling and a keen eye for dynamic lighting.
With experience from collaborations with more than 40 clients – ranging from international brands such as Lidl, Yves Saint Laurent, Union Investment, and Warner Music to respected local companies including ÖBB, Wiener Stadtwerke, and Vöslauer – René brings a wealth of expertise to every project. His unique blend of meticulous planning, creativity, and professionalism ensures results that are not only visually striking but also conceptually meaningful and memorable.
